Grasses, grasses everywhere! Not my favorite texture to draw, I often wonder why I select ideas that have relatively large areas of grass in the foreground. Well, at least this one has some snow mounds to help out!
Actually, drawing something that I sometimes find hard to do or just simply quite laborious, is a good way to keep sharp and I don't mean just the pencil point!
So, this one continues today . . .

The Summer of Bridges
And so today I embark on a summer long 'journey' with bridges as the destination. In preparation for a solo exhibition with the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wisconsin next summer, I will be spending the next dozen or so weeks working on pieces for this exhibition with bridges as their major or minor theme. Today's work begins with a couple of mourning doves, some of the ones I have been photographing in my own back yard, peeping out from . . . some bridge work!

This project, begun about two years ago, has taken me to interesting spots in search of interesting bridges. And, the search continues with planned trips out into the field this summer and into the fall. Keep watch over the next few months as 'construction' ensues!

This coming Saturday, June 9th, is the reception date (from 6 PM till 8 PM) for the small group showing at my Annapolis gallery, The Main Street Gallery, shared with Will Williams and Sam Dixon. The three of us will be in attendance Saturday evening so stop in say hello and see some fine works of art. Below, I have chained the dozen works of mine that will be included in the show which will hang through the month of June. Prices and other information are available from the gallery . . .
